FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific University men's soccer stumbled on Wednesday night, falling 2-1 to Sonoma State in non-conference action at Ramirez Field. With the loss, the Sunbirds now stand at 3-5-1 for the season and have lost consecutive games for the second time this fall.

Sonoma State forward Daniel Theobald started the scoring in the game's 32nd minute, and the 1-0 lead carried into the intermission. Teammate Maury Lopez found the net less than four minutes into the second half to push the Seawolves' advantage to 2-0.

Dylan Rusconi stepped in front of a Sonoma State pass and found
Jorge Chedraui in the box. Chedraui added to his team lead in goals with his fifth score of the year.

The Sunbirds return to PacWest action on Friday, when they travel to San Rafael to take on the Penguins of Dominican University. Opening whistle is set for 12:30 p.m.Â
