FPU Women's Soccer Edged 2-1 by CBU

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -  The Fresno Pacific University women's soccer stumbled on Thursday night, falling 2-1 to California Baptist. The setback drops the Sunbirds to 7-6-1 overall, including a 5-4-1 record in PacWest Conference action.

After not allowing a goal for more than 200 minutes, the Blue and Orange saw the Lancers get on the scoreboard first on Thursday night. CBU's Jordan Dow won a defensive tackle and crossed over to Miranda Hald, whose first goal of the season put the home team on top in the 11th minute.

The 1-0 lead held for most of the game, but Justene Kesteron's 85th-minute score ended up being the game-winner for the Lancers. Alyssa Kincade would score her first career goal in the final five minutes, but CBU was able to hang on for a pivotal PacWest victory.

Fresno Pacific is set to treturn to action on Saturday, when they take on Concordia in the final road trip of the season. Opening whistle from Irvine is slated for 2:00 p.m.
