FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific volleyball team rode Montana Lowe's 16 kills and Bissie DenHartog's double-double to 3-1 victory over Academy of Art on Saturday at the Special Events Center.

FPU improves to 6-9 overall and 4-7 in the PacWest with the win, while ART U falls to 6-14 overall and 4-7 in league play.

Lowe's 16 kills led the Sunbirds and matched the game high, while the total also marked a season-best for the senior. She finished the afternoon with a .394 hitting percentage. DenHartog dished out a game-high 47 assists and added 10 digs to pick up her seventh double-double of the year. Jasmine Phoolka added 10 kills and 12 digs, Karah Mitchell totaled eight kills and 18 digs and Chelsea Speaks led the Sunbirds with 20 digs. Hailey Hilvers added nine blocks and Madison Pierce chipped in with eight stuffs.

The Sunbirds cruised to a win in the opening set, hitting .345 as a team and leading by as many as 14 at 23-9. After each team exchanged a set, the Sunbirds closed out the win in the final frame by hitting .227 and forcing nine attack errors on the Urban Knights.

Melissa Brum led ART U with 16 kills, while Lilika Teu added 29 assists. Ema Causevic led the defense with 15 digs.

FPU is back in action on Monday at Holy Names in PacWest play at 7 p.m.
