FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno Pacific water polo team couldn't keep up with #10 UC Davis on Sunday, as the Sunbirds fell in Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) action 18-6 at Sunnyside Aquatics Center.

FPU falls to 8-9 overall and 1-4 in the WWPA with the loss, while UCD moves to 13-4 overall and 3-0 in league play.

David Maes led the way for the Sunbirds with three goals, while
Kyle Eoff added two.
Jamison Shapland also found the back of the cage. Â The defense was led by
Dillon Robinson in the cage with six saves in three quarters, while
Joseph Costa added two in the fourth period.

The Sunbirds only trailed by two, 5-3, after the opening quarter before the Aggies took control of the game. FPU was held scoreless in the second period and trailed 9-3 at the half. UCD cruised the rest of the way after scoring seven times in the third.

The Aggies capitalized on 6-of-8 man-up opportunities and out-shot the Sunbirds 34-23.

Sasa Antunovic led all scorers with six goals to lead UC Davis, while Spencer Creed made eight saves in three periods.

The Sunbirds are back in action at home on Thursday, Oct. 20 against California Baptist at 7 p.m.
