Higgins Powers FPU over Life Pacific, 97-76

FRESNO, Calif. – Madison Higgins scored a career-high 28 points as Fresno Pacific downed Life Pacific, 97-76, in non-conference action Saturday. The Sunbirds, who led from start-to-finish, shot 50 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three in the win.

FPU wraps up its non-conference schedule at 8-3 overall, while LPC falls to 1-19 on the season.

"I thought our guys played hard today," said head coach Tim Kisner. "I thought we were able to work some rust off from the break and we did a nice job of sharing the ball. Madison was a great lift off the bench and came in and made some big shots. His shot selection was really good and I thought our guys did a great job recognizing he was hot and getting him the ball in open areas."

Higgins made a career-high seven threes and finished 9-of-15 from the floor in the win. Gabe Solarin and Spencer Krannitz added 13 points apiece for the Sunbirds, while Oliver Herting scored 12. Solarin grabbed seven rebounds and Herting totaled six. Freshman Kiree Hutchings totaled 11 points and dished out a team-high five assists off the bench.

FPU jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. The Sunbirds led by as many as 26 in the second half and led 49-37 at the half.
