OAKLAND, Calif. - Fresno Pacific struggled on offense, finishing with 25 turnovers and shooting just 19% from the floor in the second half in a 58-44 PacWest loss at Holy Names.
The Sunbirds (2-7, 0-3 PacWest) led 16-11 after the first quarter but it was all Holy Names from that point on as the Hawks (3-6, 2-2 PacWest) built up a 27-24 halftime lead, then held FPU to just five field goals in the second half.
Taylor Caspers scored 12 points to lead the Sunbirds while
Megan Lee and
Kristina Smith added eight points apiece.
Jasmine Shedrick finished with six blocks.
Tatiana Howard led the Hawks with a game-high 13 points. HNU showed superior depth on the night, outscoring FPU 32-10 in bench points.
The Sunbirds remain in the Bay Area to take on Academy of Art in San Francisco on Saturday.
