Keairra White scored 24 for FPU but visiting Concordia would pull away late to knock off the Sunbirds 79-69 on Friday night. The game counted as an exhibition for FPU and a regular season game for the NAIA #14-ranked Eagles (9-2), who are set to join the Sunbirds in the PacWest next season.
FPU battled back from a six-point halftime deficit, beginning the second half on a 14-2 run to take a 48-42 lead with just under 13 minutes remaining. The game was tied 62-62 with 4:40 to play before the Eagles closed out the game by outscoring FPU 17-7 from that point.
Janis Peterson had a game-high 24 points for the Eagles and Jasmine Crawford added 14 points and 10 assists. CUI out-rebounded FPU 49-36 in the win.
Jenay Herring added 11 points and five assists for FPU.

Dakota McLarnan had 10 points apiece. The Sunbirds shot 48 percent from the field but would suffer from a tough night at the line, connecting on just 15-of-27 free-throws (56%).
FPU resumes PacWest play next week as the Sunbirds travel to Hawaii for three games, beginning with a match-up against BYU Hawaii on Tuesday.
