Sunbirds rock Holy Names, extend win streak to nine

OAKLAND, Calif. - FPU extended its winning streak to nine games, sweeping a doubleheader at Holy Names on Friday by scores of 10-2 and 15-3. John Koretoff and Michael Tittle each homered and the Sunbirds pounded out 32 hits on the day. Every player in the lineup had a hit in the first game, while eight of the nine starters had at least two hits in game two. Joshua Banuelos contributed a team-high six hits over the two games.

J.D. Salles earned the win in game one, going seven innings and giving up two earned. Wilson Ashford picked up the win in game two, shutting out the Hawks for the first five innings before being chased in the sixth.

The Sunbirds improved to 28-16, 16-10 in PacWest play. The Hawks fell to 19-27, 9-21 in the PacWest. The teams meet up again tomorrow in Oakland for a doubleheader starting at noon.
