SEATTLE - Fresno Pacific found themselves overmatched at the hands of NCAA Division II #15-ranked Western Washington at the 2014 Sodexo Tip-Off Classic, being outscored 50-17 in the second half on their way to a 88-42 setback.
"This weekend was a good chance for us to see what the top competition in the NCAA West Region looks like," said head coach
Lindsey Wilson. "We were breaking in a lot of newcomers against some very well-coached and experienced teams. We did a lot of really great things in the first half today. We played with great intensity and effort. Now we have to learn how to maintain that for a full 40 minutes."
Jasmine Shedrick had 11 points to lead the Sunbirds while
Charde Stevens posted 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Taylor Caspers added eight points off the bench. FPU shot 26% from the field in the loss, but out-rebounded the much bigger Vikings 40-36.
