BELMONT, Calif. - FPU outlasted NDNU on Saturday in a wild match that featured four lead changes. The Sunbirds (3-5-1, 3-1-1 PacWest) have now won three straight. FPU received goals from Rachelle Schiller, Amber Rodriguez and Jerrica Babb in its highest scoring output of the season.

Schiller put the Sunbirds on the board just a minute into the match but the Argos responded just seven minutes later. The teams traded goals throughout the match until the 76th minute when a shot by FPU's Ana Walker was mishandled by the keeper resulting in an own goal to put the Sunbirds up 4-3. Marguerite Belanger, Jenna Thomason and Bianka Garcia recorded assists for FPU.

"We're extremely proud of our team for today's performance in terms of their overall effort, determination, and work ethic," said head coach Erik Farfan. "The girls showed immense amounts of character to get this result having fallen behind twice in the match and coming back as many times to eventually win the contest. If we can continue to compete with the same level of heart, commitment and will to win as demonstrated today, we will have every opportunity to achieve the goals we have set for this season. Again, we couldn't be more happy for our team for this victory."

The Argos fell to 2-7, 0-3 in PacWest play.

The Sunbirds are back in action at home next Thursday, hosting Academy of Art at 7:30 pm.
