A sweep of all six singles matches powered the No. 11 Sunbirds to an 8-1 win over PacWest rival Dominican University (CA). The win closed out the regular season for Fresno Pacific.

The Sunbirds (17-6) went up 2-1 after doubles play; dropping the No. 3 doubles match to Francesca Katafias and Emily Prescott 8-6. Dominican (6-10) dropped their second match of the season to the Sunbirds. FPU won by an identical 8-1 score in Fresno on February 2.  

Marie Boura and Petra Jurova defeated Irina Morozova and Gaby Verspieren 8-3 for the second time this season.

In singles the Sunbirds were dominant sweeping five of six singles matches in straight sets. Anna Mikhaylova took three sets to defeated Prescott 2-6, 6-2, 12-10. No. 15 Boura earned a 6-1, 6-1 straight set victory over Morozova at No. 1 singles.

The Sunbirds will travel to Hawaii for the PacWest Championship on April 18. FPU needs to finish higher than rival Azusa Pacific to win the NCCAA West Region and advance to the NCCAA National Tournament in Mobile, Ala.
