Fresno Pacific couldn't muster much of anything offensively on Saturday night, getting outshot 21-3 by NAIA #12 Cal State San Marcos in a 3-0 home loss.

The Sunbirds dropped to 0-2-1 on the season while the Cougars improved to 3-1. CSUSM, coming off a win over ranked NCAA Division II opponent Seattle Pacific, continued their momentum with the 3-0 win.

Sarah King was impressive in goal for the Sunbirds with five saves but the Cougars generated too many opportunties to be fully slowed down.

Kelsey Gunion got the scoring going in the 19th minute, scoring off a corner from Kaleigh Dodson. The score remained 1-0 until the 76th minute when Dani Porter got around King off a pass from Natalie Lara for an open shot to make it 2-0.

Paulina Good came off the bench to complete the Cougars' attack, with a goal in the 86th minute.

The Sunbirds begin PacWest play this Thursday at home when they take on conference favorite California Baptist. The last time the two teams matched up was two years ago in Fresno when the Sunbirds handed the nationally ranked Lancers a 3-0 loss with all three goals coming from Nayeli Deniz.
