Fresno Pacific unleashed 26 goals on visiting Delta College Thursday afternoon, the team's highest goal total of the season as FPU got a tuneup before a big tournament this weekend.
Nick Fadden led the way with six goals and Trevor Kolb added three as the Sunbirds jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. FPU led 9-2 at halftime and by the end of the third quarter had built up an insurmountable 19-4 lead.
Jake Finney and Jacob Cross combined for eight saves in goal with Finney notching six. Stephen Chafi, Sascha Ludwig, Ian Manfredo, Andreas Sahlberg, Glenn Lyon and Connor Greene each scored two goals in the win.
The Sunbirds begin play at the Aggie Shootout hosted by UC Davis on Saturday. There they'll face the nation's #3 team, Cal, as well as #9 UC Davis, who's moved up since the Sunbirds played them to a 13-7 game earlier this season. The Sunbirds will also face two ranked NCAA Division III foes, La Verne and Chapman. FPU will look to avenge a 13-11 loss to Chapman from last weekend.
