FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (21-9, 13-8 GSAC) could not manage the same comeback they made in yesterday's game despite their two runs in the final two innings. The Sunbirds fell 6-5 to Azusa Pacific (14-20, 7-15 GSAC) in their second of four meetings this season.
The Sunbirds trailed 6-3 after the seventh inning and then fought back with a sac-fly from
Andrew Douglas in the eighth and a RBI from
Case Rigby in the ninth, but it was not enough to make up the three-run deficit.
Rigby and
Jared Coleman led the Sunbirds with two RBIs apiece while
Tyler Pryor continued to hit well going four-for-four on the day with one run but no RBIs.
Kelyn Schellenberg pitched another complete game but received his second loss of the season. Schellenberg allowed 11 hits, 6 runs with 3 strikeouts.
The Sunbirds will travel to Azusa to finish their four-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 10 at 12 noon.
