FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (17-3, 9-3 GSAC) could not pull off their home sweep of California Baptist (23-6, 12-2 GSAC). After taking their first game 4-3, the Sunbirds fell to the Lancers 4-8 in their second game.
Tyler Pryor was one of four Sunbirds that each had an RBI, hitting a solo homerun in the fifth inning, but the Sunbirds already trailed 3-6. Cal Baptist had a huge fifth inning right before Pryor's homerun where the Lancers scored four runs.
David Hawes (3-2) received the loss pitching four innings with five hits, four earned runs and four strikeouts.
The Sunbirds fall to fourth place in the GSAC with their third loss of the season. However, the Sunbirds will head to Riverside to take control of the series against Cal Baptist on Saturday, March 20 with a doubleheader. The first game begins at 2 p.m.
