Sunbirds rack up five homeruns in 14-7 win

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific's (8-0) bats continued to roll with their third win over San Francisco Academy of Art (0-6) as the Sunbirds hit 15-for-39 with 11 RBIs and 5 homeruns.  The Sunbirds won 14-7 in their final meeting with Academy of Art this season.

Three bats were especially hot on Saturday; Tyler Pryor, Dane McLaughlin and Case Rigby combined for five homeruns and nine RBIs.  McLaughlin had a three-run shot  in the seventh inning while Pryor and Rigby each had two homeruns for the day.

Pryor led the day hitting three-for-four with one walk as well.

Matt Mazzoni earned the win for the Sunbirds pitching the first five innings allowing three hits and no runs, where the Sunbirds led 8-0 at the time.  The Urban Knights picked up their offense after Mazzoni left the mound, but Kyle Lovero, Michael Jimenez, Abel Gamboa and Michael Rivera had enough to hold off the late surge to win 14-7.

The Sunbirds begin GSAC-play this week against Westmont College.  Their first game will be on Wednesday, February 24 at 7 p.m. in Fresno.
