FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Pacific (7-0) did not hold back offensively or defensively as they defeated San Francisco Academy of Art (0-7) in back-to-back games. The Sunbirds shut out the Urban Knights 10-0 and 11-0 for their fourth and fifth shutouts of the season.
Case Rigby led the Sunbirds hitting three-for-six with five RBIs combined for the day with four RBIs coming in the first game.
Andrew Douglas also came up big in the first game with a three-run homerun in the first inning, a part of an eight-run inning for the Sunbirds.
The Sunbirds' big inning in the second game was the third inning where the Sunbirds scored six runs where both Rigby and Douglas also had an RBI apiece.
The Sunbirds' pitching performed well keeping the Urban Knights scoreless over 12 innings.
David Hawes (2-0) pitched five innings in the first game only allowing two hits with three strikeouts.
Sean Cunningham (3-0) pitched all five innings in the second game allowing three hits with five strikeouts.
The Sunbirds hit an impressive .410 as a team for the doubleheader, and will look to continue their dominance tomorrow, Saturday, February 20 as they take on San Francisco Academy of Art one last time.
The third and final game of the series will begin at 11 a.m.
