BAKERSFIELD, CA. - The #2 ranked FPU women's tennis team looked sharp Thursday afternoon defeating CSU Bakersfield 7-0 in a non-conference matchup. The NAIA national runner-up Sunbirds shut out the NCAA Division I Roadrunners in Bakersfield on the Sally Ann Silva Courts, and now improve to 3-0 on the season while CSUB falls to 0-7.

In doubles play, Fresno Pacific's Katia Sabate once again teamed up with Vanessa Heroux to defeat CSUB's Sara Mijwel and Julie Hutton in the #1 doubles spot 8-2, while the Sunbirds swept the #2 and #3 matches as well (8-5, 8-4).
  
On the singles side, Heroux had the closest match of the day at #3 singles, but defeated Bakersfield's Nefeli Diamanti in three sets (3-6, 7-6, 7-6) after dropping the first. FPU took the other five singles matches in straight sets.
