FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (2-0) played a great home-opener as they took on San Francisco State (2-2) for the first time in three years. The Sunbirds managed to shut out San Francisco 11-0 in their first home game of 2010.
Jared Coleman was perfect hitting three-for-three with four RBIs. Coleman had two doubles and a homerun.
Jeff Taylor also had a great game with two RBIs going two-for-three for the game.
Kelyn Schellenberg pitched eight innings for the Sunbirds only allowing two hits. Shellenberg earned the win with two walks and eight strikeouts.
The Sunbirds opened the game with three runs in the first inning and never looked back as they continued to open up their lead over San Francisco.
The Sunbirds will continue to play at home as they take on Bethany University on Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13. Fresno Pacific's first game against Bethany will begin at 5 p.m.
