TURLOCK, Calif. – Fresno Pacific (1-0) capitalized on a five-run fifth inning to win their season opener. The Sunbirds defeated CSU Stanislaus 11-7 hitting .333 as a team.
Case Rigby led the Sunbirds hitting 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs.

Dane McLaughlin and
Alec Mehrten followed with two RBIs apiece for the Sunbirds. Six different Sunbirds had two hits each for Fresno Pacific.
The Sunbirds jumped out early to a 5-1 lead, but the Warriors fought back to pull within one, cutting the Sunbirds' lead to 6-5. The Sunbirds used four singles and two Stanislaus errors in the fifth to jump back out 11-5.
Sean Cunningham received the win for pitching 3.1 innings allowing three hits and no runs.
The Sunbirds will return to Fresno for their home opener against San Francisco State. Fresno Pacific will play on Thursday, February 11 at 6 p.m.
