Fresno Pacific was unable to score against a tough Point Loma Nazarene defense, falling 2-0 to the #25 Sea Lions, but the Sunbirds qualified for the GSAC playoffs anyway after Vanguard was unable to beat Westmont.

FPU will go on the road for a playoff game on Tuesday as the tournament's number eight seed against first-place Azusa Pacific, a team that defeated the Sunbirds 3-1 earlier this week.

The Sunbirds fell behind in the first half when PLNU's Katie Pedlowe crossed the ball into the box and it was flicked in by Lindsay Bollar. PLNU would add another goal in the second half, as Kelly Christerson headed in a cross from Krista Gregory in the 59th minute.

FPU was out-shot 15-6 on the day and caught some bad breaks as two Sunbird goals were disallowed due to offsides calls.

Seniors Jessica Pereschica, Liz Baldwin and Amanda Sherr were each honored before the game, playing in their final home contest.

The Sunbirds finish the regular season with a record of 5-10-2, 3-6-1 in GSAC play.
