Perez was in the middle of a strong season on the track, beginning with a 5th-place finish in the 600 at the Sunshine Open in Santa Barbara. At FPU's Sunbird Invitational, Perez teamed up with Gianna Dickson, Sydney Rhoads and Mikaela Smith to give the Blue and Orange a 1-2 finish in the 4x400.
