Sunbird Track & Field alumnus Tim Holmes Jr has been on the FPU Track & Field coaching staff since 2019. In 2025 he was elevated to Head Throws Coach for the men’s and women’s teams.
The 2018 PacWest champion and 2019 runner up in the hammer throw, Holmes has been an influential coaching figure for numerous Sunbird throwers whose names are regularly added to the FPU record books year after year. Notable student-athletes he’s trained amd coached at FPU include All-American Jesse Franco – the hammer throw record holder for both FPU and the PacWest Conference, Moe Bradley – four-time PacWest champion in the shot put and discus, and Dejan Mileusnic – 2024 Division II javelin runner up and FPU/PacWest record holder.
The Clovis native and Buchannan High School grad earned a BA in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Physical Education from Fresno Pacific University. He is the oldest of three siblings. Tim and his wife, Tristian welcomed the birth of their first child in December 2025.
