Alexia Patendis joined the Fresno Pacific Cheer & Dance staff as an assistant coach in 2026 after building an extensive background as both a competitive cheerleader and coach in the Central Valley.
A Clovis North High School graduate, Patendis competed for four years on the Broncos’ varsity competition cheer team. Her connection to the current FPU staff dates back to her playing career, when Director of Cheer & Dance, Devin Balbach, served as one of her coaches for two seasons.
Following high school, Patendis began her coaching career at Clovis North, first leading the junior varsity competition team for three years before spending the next five seasons co-coaching the varsity competition team alongside Balbach. Over 10 years coaching at Clovis North, Patendis helped lead the program to three USA National Championships and four CIF Central Section Championships.
Patendis graduated from Fresno State with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science.
Outside of cheer, Patedis enjoys Pilates, spending time with family, going for walks, shopping, and getting coffee with friends.
