As a Junior (2020) – Appeared in 13 matches for the Sunbirds … accumulated 15 kills … had one service ace … scooped up 18 digs … had 20 total blocks … had two solo blocks...earned Academic All-PacWest Honors...

As a Sophomore (2019) - Appeared in 24 matches for the Sunbirds … totaled 83 kills, 41 digs and 76 total blocks … posted a season’s best eight kills against Academy of Art (10/12) … stuffed a season’s best six total blocks against Point Loma (10/05) and Academy of Art (10/12) … earned Academic All-PacWest honors …

As a Freshman (2018) - Started 31 matches for the Sunbirds....picked up six kills in collegiate debut against Seattle Pacific (8/24)....went for a season-best in kills with 13 against Hawai'i Pacific (11/10)....totaled a team-high 61 blocks and 169 kills for the year....turned in 17 service aces....named Academic All-PacWest.

Prior to FPU - Prepped at John Horn High School and spent three years on the varsity team under head coach Kimberly McVey....also competed on the track and field team in high school....named to the National Honor Society and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Personal - Daughter of Phea and Darol Kennedy....has one sibling named Micah....her cousin Kenoy played football at Arkansas and for the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions....chose FPU for the home feeling....enjoys eating street tacos....favorite TV show is Criminal Minds and her favorite book is The Alchemist....her good friend Gabby Idlebird plays volleyball at High Point University....listens to Drake....person she would most like to meet is Barack Obama....attends New Jerusalem AME Church....Mikayla is a pre-health sciences and biology major with career goals to become a cardiac and thoracic surgeon.
