Derrick Linman is a graduate of Immanuel High School. He played basketball there, and his team was League Champion all four years. He earned the Servants Heart Award and the Eagles Spirit Award.
He attended College of the Sequoias and Reedley College before transferring to Fresno Pacific. He is a mathematics major.
His hobbies include basketball, volleyball, dirt biking, and working with youth. He attends The Well Community Church.
Derek's mom was on the Fresno Pacific volleyball team, and she played under Dennis Janzen in his first year as head coach.
Derrick is in his first year as a graduate assistant with the Sunbirds.
