As a Redshirt Sophomore (2013) - Named All-PacWest Honorable Mention in hte midfield....started in 17 or his 18 appearances for the PacWest and NCCAA West Region Champion Sunbirds....scored two goals and dished out seven assists, good for second on the team....totaled 11 points in 1,354 minutes....scored a goal in wins over California Baptist and UC Santa Cruz....dished out an assist in a 3-2 victory over Point Loma.

As a Sophomore (2012) - Took a redshirt season after season was cut short by a knee injury...was one of the top midfielders for the Sunbirds prior to the injury....appeared in four matches for FPU....took six shots on the season including two on goal.

As a Freshman (2011) - Appeared in all 18 games, making 16 starts at midfielder for the GSAC champion Sunbirds....one of the most important players on the team, with exceptional ability to win and control balls in the midfield.....recorded his first collegiate assist in 5-1 win over #16 Holy Names (8/30)....took 13 shots on the season.

Prior to FPU- Played four seasons of varsity soccer at Reedley High School under head coach Felix Perez....2011 NYL Champion...2011 NYL MVP...2011 Valley Champion.

Personal- Parents Antonio and Silvia Velarde...Has two brothers Christian and Anthony...Most admires his parents...Favorite sports team in FC Barcelona of Liga BBVA...Favorite player is Andres Iniesta...Eric is a History major.
