Erin Obwald re-joined the FPU soccer programs in an administrative role in April 2024.

The Fresno native and Hoover High School grad transferred to Fresno Pacific in 1998 as a junior.  She was the founding president of the Sunbird Soccer Club and worked alongside coach Jaime Ramirez for the next three years in transitioning the club into an intercollegiate NAIA program.

In 2001 – the first year of the women’s team – Obwald had one semester of college eligibility left and was able to play on the team she was instrumental in founding.  She continued to work for the soccer program through 2003 until she shifted her focus to parenting.  Obwald currently runs a local non-profit in Fresno, but returned to FPU ahead of the 2024 season.

Obwald and her husband David, also a Fresno Pacific alumnus, have five children and reside in the Fresno area.
