Vanessa House joins the Sunbird coaching staff after a highly successful career as a player.
A native of Fresno, House starred locally at Fresno High School and Fresno City College before moving on to play at the NCAA Division I level for West Virginia. At Fresno City (2006-08) she averaged 14.6 points, 5.9 assists, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game, and scored 41 points in the state semifinal game against Mount San Antonio College.
At West Virginia (2008-11) she appeared in 76 career games and was part of the winningest two seasons in the program's history. She scored 449 points and grabbed 173 rebounds as the team's top option off the bench for two full seasons. She had a career-high 17 points against Louisville and scored 14 points against #1 seed Baylor in the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
House went on to play professionally in Europe in both Germany and Finland.
She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from West Virginia, with minors in sociology and personal training.
