A 1997 graduate of Fresno Pacific, Shannae Thiesen returns to her alma mater for her second stint with the Sunbirds. She previously served in a similar role for the Blue and Orange, coaching alongside Tim Beauregard while the two were both assistants. 
 
During her four years as a point guard for the 'Birds, Thiesen showed excellent court vision and currently ranks fourth on the program's all-time list with 432 assists, averaging 3.60 per game. Additionally, Thiesen played in 120 career games for FPU, which was the school record at the time of her graduation.
 
"Shannae is somebody who has mentored and impacted countless young women both on and off the court. Her ability to connect with her players and inspire them to achieve their goals is second to none. When I got the opportunity to lead this program one of the first calls I made was to Coach Thiesen in the hopes I could get her to be a part of this new era. She has a decorated playing career with FPU and has been integral in mentoring numerous student-athletes since her playing days. Having Coach Thiesen a part of our program will only aid in our pursuits of excellence in all areas. I am thrilled to have her and know she will hold me accountable and serve our student-athletes exceptionally." – head coach Tim Beauregard
