  • Title
    Assistant
Stevens joined the FPU coaching staff entering the 2016-17 season.

No stranger to the Fresno area, Stevens has spent the last four years as the head coach at Immanuel High School, compiling a record of 86-31 along the way while winning four consecutive sectional championships. Prior to his time at IHS, Stevens led Parlier High School to a 45-35 slate, pushing his total win percentage to .664 during his seven-year stretch as a head coach.

Stevens was named as the Coach of the Year by the Fresno Bee in 2012 and 2014 and recently earned his second League Coach of the Year award in five seasons. After his squad finished as the 2014 Southern California D5 runner up, Stevens now has seen eight former players go on to college careers and has four league championships under his belt (1 at PHS, 3 at IHS).

"Coach Stevens is a stellar basketball coach, and I have had the pleasure of watching him grow and develop his program and his players over the course of many years. His ability to progress his teams and maximize their potential each year is remarkable. I'm excited to have Coach Stevens be a part of our program and know he will have a great impact in a multitude of areas. His leadership skillset lends itself well to the direction of where we are headed. There is no doubt in my mind that he will be an integral part of the new era of Sunbirds basketball."  – head coach Tim Beauregard
