    Throws Coach
Raymond Hansen is a proud husband, father and grandfather who came back to coaching at the collegiate level in 2019 after a 25-year high school career that carried him all over the United States, most notably in Louisiana, Texas and finally California’s Central Valley.  He was a high school All-American out of Monroe, Louisiana and went on to be a several time collegiate All-American at Kansas State University where he broke the school record with a throw of 283-0 in 1984. He went on to coach at KSU for several years before leaving to coach high school.  One of his early high school athletes – Breaux Greer -  went on to break the American record in the javelin, and some of his recent throwers are on paths to having great careers in the college and international ranks.  He brings this same energy to Fresno Pacific and looks forward to helping build FPU into a powerhouse Division II program. His motto is: “Treat an athlete as though he/she is already the person they are capable of becoming.”
