Biography
As a Junior (2019-20) - Competed in 11 meets … at the PCSC Championships, swam in the 500 free (5:10.24, good enough for 13th overall), 100 back (57.97, good enough for 4th overall) and 200 back (2:06.55, good enough for 9th overall).
As a Sophomore (2018-19) – at the PCSC Championships, won the 400 medley relay title (3:48.24) before earning a silver medal in the 200 backstroke (2:05.05) and the 200-medley relay (1:44.94)….also took fourth in the 100 backstroke (57.82).
Prior to FPU - Prepped at Sandy High School, where she spent three years on the varsity team under head coach Jamie Paul....broke records in the 200 IM, 100 backstroke and the 400 free and IM relays....top five in Oregon in the backstroke....also served as the editor for the school newspaper the Pioneer Press....graduated with honors.
Personal - Daughter of Karyn and David Hayzlett....has a bother named Gage....chose FPU for the close-knit campus and the community....favorite food is anything Italian....enjoys watching Game of Thrones....roots for Natalie Coughlin....hobbies include reading and writing....Shelbi is a kinesiology major.
