As a Senior (2015) - PacWest Player of the Week (9/21).

As a Junior (2014) - NCAA Division II Daktronics All-West Region Second Team...NSCAA All-West Region Second Team...All-PacWest First Team...PacWest Player of the Week (11/3)...started and appeared in 14 games for the Sunbirds and finished third on the team in points with 14...scored five goals and dished out four assists...scored a goal in a win over CSU Dominguez Hills (9/12)...tallied a pair of assists in a win over Holy Names (10/2)...scored a goal and dished out an assist in a win over California Baptist (10/21)...recorded a hat-trick in a 3-3 tie with BYU-Hawaii (10/27).

As a Sophomore (2013) - Named All-PacWest Second Team in the midfield....started in 22 of his 23 appearances for the PacWest and NCCAA West Region Champion Sunbirds....scored 12 goals, good for third on the team, and dished out six assists....totaled 30 points for third on the squad....scored twice in the NCCAA national championship pool play draw against Lee....tallied two goals in a win over Chaminade....scored a goal in a 2-1 win over San Francisco State....dished out two assists in a win over Holy Names.

Prior to FPU - Played one season at Truman College under head coach Anthony Gamboa....named to the NJCAA All-Region team and NJCAA All-American....scored 15 goals and dished out eight assists in 11 matches.

Personal - Parents are Ernesto Bustamante and Katya Mesia...chose FPU because of the quality soccer program and the overall student-athlete experience...favorite sports team is FC Barcelona...enjoys hiking and traveling...Renato is a kinesiology major.
