Biography

As a Junior (2016) - Made 11 appearances for the Sunbirds....took three shots....Academic All-PacWest selection.  

As a Sophomore (2015) - Academic All-PacWest....Appeared in one game for the PacWest Champion Sunbirds for a total of eight minutes.

As a Freshman (2014) - Appeared in four games and totaled 52 minutes for the Sunbirds...tallied a pair of shots in a win over Holy Names (10/2).

Prior to FPU - Played four seasons of varsity soccer at Clovis North High School...member of the 2012 Valley Championship team...named All-TRAC First Team in 2014...member of the Honor Roll in 2012 and '13.

Personal - Parents are Enrique and Magdalena Castillo...has one brother, Luis Enrique, and one sister, Jessica, who played soccer at FPU...greatest sports thrill is winning the Valley championship in 2012...chose FPU for the Christian community...the person he admires the most is his father...favorite food is sushi and his favorite book is "A Child Called It"...roots for FC Barcelona and Ronaldinho...attends Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church...Gerardo is a pre-med major.
