Jason LeFore was hired as an assistant coach with the Fresno Pacific men’s basketball program in August of 2015. He is currently in his second season with the Sunbirds.
LeFore brings 10 years of coaching experience at the high school level to the men’s basketball program. Prior to joining the FPU staff, LeFore was the head varsity basketball coach at Hoover High School. He posted a 22-34 overall record in two years, while trying to rebuild the program.
LeFore’s coaching career began at Clovis High School under John Jones, where he was a varsity assistant and head freshman coach. He moved on to San Joaquin Memorial High School, where he served two years as the head junior varsity coach. LeFore then went to Clovis North as a varsity assistant for four years under Rob Streeter, where he was part of the school’s first ever Valley championship.
LeFore has also been working the Michael Jordan Flight School Camp for the last four years.
A Fresno native, LeFore played basketball at Clovis High School for three seasons under John Jones. He went on to play basketball at Reedley College under Brian Fonseca and then finished his playing career at FPU. LeFore, a hard-working player that could knock down the three, was a member of the 2008-09 Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) championship team that went 26-8 under head coach Jim Saia.
LeFore is married to his wife Kristin and the two have three children: Hunter (16), Daeton (9), and Scarlett (4).
LeFore earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Fresno Pacific and also received his teaching Credential in Mild/Moderate Special Education from National University.
“The depth of relationship I have with Coach LeFore means he is someone we can trust deeply. His knowledge and experience playing at a high level, his depth of knowledge, his ability to connect with our guys, and his passion for Fresno Pacific and our valley are all traits we deeply appreciate.” – head coach C.J.
