Colin Matteson joins the Fresno Pacific men’s basketball staff after spending one season on the women’s coaching staff at Western Washington, one of the top NCAA Division II programs in the nation. While at WWU, Matteson helped lead the Vikings to a 29-5 record and a trip to the Final Four.

Matteson played collegiately at Alaska Fairbanks, graduating in 2009 with a degree in political science and clinical psychology. In three seasons with the Nanooks, after transferring from Edmonds Community College, Matteson scored 862 career points, 24th in school history. As a senior he averaged a team-high 13.7 points per game and was team captain for two seasons.

He went on to play professionally for three years in Germany, Australia and China. His brother, Evan competed collegiately at Texas A&M International under head coach Shane Rinner and now plays professionally in Norway.
