As a Redshirt Senior (2020-21) – Appeared in 16 games for the Sunbirds … made 13 starts … averaged 25.9 minutes per game … scored 4.1 points per game … shot 41.9 percent from the field … pulled down 5.6 rebounds per game … ranked third on the team in rebounds per game … dished out 2.9 assists per game … ranked second on the team in assists per game … ranked 10^th in the PacWest in assists per game … had 10 blocks on the season … nabbed 12 steals on the season … ranked second on the team in steals … scored a season-high 13 points against Academy of Art (01/30) … pulled down a season-high 11 rebounds against Academy of Art (01/29) … dished out a season-high seven assists against Academy of Art (03/02)...earned Academic All-PacWest Honors...

As a Redshirt Junior (2019-20) - Appeared in all 28 games for the Sunbirds … made 22 starts … logged 639 minutes on the court … averaged 3.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game … shot 39.7 percent from the field … 63.2 percent from the free throw line … scored a season’s best 12 points against Hawaii Hilo (1/02) … pulled down a season’s best eight rebounds against Biola (2/24) …

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2018-19) - Appeared in all 27 games for the Sunbirds, including 16 starts....guarded opposing team's best player regardless of position....came away with 11 steals and five blocks for the year....averaged 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 points per game.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2017-18) - Appeared in 26 games for the Sunbirds and averaged 14.4 minutes per night....made two starts for the 'Birds....served as a lockdown defender....had a season best six points in a win over Academy of Art (2/22).

As a Freshman (2016-17) - Redshirt.

Prior to FPU - Played for two years on the varsity team at nationally ranked Bishop Montgomery High School for head coach Doug Mitchell....led the team to a 28-3 record his senior year before falling to consensus national high school champion Chino High School in the Open Division State Playoffs....won the CIF Southern Section Open Division Championship (2015).

Personal - Son of AJ and Iesha Kirby....has two sisters, Ashlee and Autumn....chose Fresno Pacific because it was the perfect fit for him....person he most admires is his mother....friend on another college team is Chris Barnes (University of Texas at El Paso)....loves to eat ice cream....favorite book is The Great Gatsby....likes to watch Rush Hour....listens to music by Drake....roots for the Los Angeles Clippers....would like to meet Kobe Bryant....AJ is a kinesiology major who hopes to become a physical therapist or EMT.
