As a Redshirt Junior (2017) - Made 12 starts on the mound for the Sunbirds....posted a 3-6 record with a 5.02 ERA....led FPU with 39 strikeouts in 71.2 innings of work....earned first career victory after going seven scoreless innings against Western Oregon (2/9)....struck out a season-high eight batters in win over Dixie State (3/30)....named Academic All-PacWest.

As a Junior (2016): Redshirted for the Sunbirds. 

Prior to FPU - Spent two years at Fresno City College under head coach Ron Scott....prepped at Clovis North High School, where he played baseball for four years, including three years on varsity for coach Chris Patrick.

Personal - Son of Greg and Wendy Ashford....has two siblings, Wilson and Riley....brother, Wilson, was PacWest Pitcher of the Year for FPU in 2015 and holds multiple school records....favorite movie is Miracle....favorite food is chile verde....roots for the Chicago Cubs....attends New Covenant Community Church....Trent is a business major.
