As a Senior (2016) - Redshirted for the Sunbirds. 

As a Junior (2015) - Appeared in 21 games out of the bullpen, serving as the closer for the national champion Sunbirds....posted a 4-2 record with a 1.96 ERA and eight saves in 36 2/3 innings pitched while striking out 40 and holding opponents to a team-low .189 batting average.....tossed three scoreless innings in extra-inning win over nationally ranked Chico State (2/14)....struck out five in three scoreless innings in win at Point Loma (4/17)....tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in NCCAA World Series, including six strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings vs. Palm Beach Atlantic.....PacWest Scholar-Athlete.

As a Sophomore (2014) - Appeared in 11 games out of the bullpen for the national champion Sunbirds....threw 13 2/3 innings, posting 1-0 record and 3.95 ERA while striking out 15....struck out the final batter to earn the save in win over Cal State Stanislaus (2/7)....tossed two scoreless innings, striking out three at Cal State Stanislaus (2/10)....earned the win at conference champ Dixie State with a dominant five-inning, one-run, seven strikeout performance out of the bullpen (5/3)....at the plate, went 1-for-17 in eight games.

As a Freshman (2013) - Appeared in nine games out of the bullpen for the Sunbirds....pitched nine innings, striking out seven and posting an ERA of 6.00....at the plate went 1-for-3 and collected first collegiate hit at Sonoma State (2/23)....tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings at nationally-ranked Cal State LA (3/23)....had a scoreless inning with two strikeouts against PacWest champ Grand Canyon (4/5).

Prior to FPU - Graduate of Hanford West High School...played three years of varsity baseball under coach Mike Remy...named Most Valuable Pitcher in 2010-2011, Most Valuable Hitter in 2011-2012, All-WYL in 2011, All-Valley selection in 2011 and All-Kings County in 2011-2012...also played football, water polo and basketball in high school.

Personal - Born March 10...son of Lon and Margaret Irwin...has two brothers, Jed and Travis...his dad, uncle and grandfather all played professional baseball...greatest sports thrill is winning a Valley Championship...chose FPU for the coaching staff and the Christian learning environment...the people he admires the most are his parents...favorite TV show is ‘Myth Busters’...favorite book is “Mind Gym” by the author Gary Mack...favorite food is prime rib...favorite musical artist is George Strait...favorite sports team is the San Francisco Giants...favorite athlete is Will Clark...hobbies include playing guitar, snowboarding and wakeboarding...attends Hanford Calvary Chapel Church...Tanner is a kinesiology major with plans to become a chiropractor.
