As a Junior (2014) - Started 55 games at third base for the national champion Sunbirds....batted .319 with a .397 on-base percentage, six doubles and 17 RBI....ranked third on the team with 43 runs scored....was a World Series all-tournament team selection....stole ten bases, including a steal of home during the World Series....hit .364 during the World Series including 4-for-4 in the national title game victory over Lee....went 2-for-4 in the team's win over nationally-ranked Chico State (2/1)....went 4-for-6 with three runs scored and an RBI against Hawaii Pacific (2/24)....came through with a clutch two-RBI game-tying single with the Sunbirds down to their final out in victory over Sonoma State (3/8)....finished 6-for-9 in a doubleheader sweep of Academy of Art (4/19).....went 2-for-3 with a two-RBI go-ahead double in the team's World Series win over top seed Oklahoma Christian (5/16)....one of the top defensive infielders in the league, was a West Region Gold Glove nominee.

Prior to FPU - Played two years at Reedley College under coach Steve Purse....earned first team all-league honors both seasons and won the gold glove at third base while batting .333....prepped at Hanford West High School where he played four years of baseball including three on varsity for coach Michael Remy....earned all-state honors....also pitched 48 innings without surrendering a walk.....helped lead his team to three Valley titles....also played water polo in high school, earning all-league honors twice.

Personal - Born June 10....son of Rick and Maria Hostetler....has six siblings: Nick, Bobby, Nancy, Danny, Jason and Ashley....favorite food is chili con carne....favorite movie is Hardball....favorite team is New York Yankees....attends St. Brigid's Church....hobbies include riding dirtbikes and snowboarding.....Michael is a criminology major with plans of going into law enforcement.
