Personal - Jared was born in Fresno but calls Kerman, CA his home...His wife's name is Stephanie...His parents are Gary and Debra Coleman...He has an older sister, Leslie...His favorite teams are the SF Giants and SF 49ers...He likes country and rock music...His favorite TV shows are "NCIS" and "CSI"...Jared is a Kinesiology major...His career goal is to become a physician's assistant.

Prior to FPU - Jared is a graduate of Kerman High School...He played varsity baseball for three years...His team was North Sequoia League Champions in 2005...He also played two years of varsity football.

As a junior (2009) - Jared appeared in 43 of the Sunbirds’ 60 games, 34 of which were starts...He batted .293 while having 123 at bats...Jared scored 9 runs, batted in 23 runs, and hit 4 home runs...He had a .331 on-base percentage as well as a .988 fielding percentage...Jared led the team with 5 sacrifice bunts and 6 picked off runners as a catcher.
