Betsy Myers joined the FPU athletic training staff in August 2004 and has been the Director of Sports Medicine since June 2006. She was named the Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine in 2013. Betsy was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine & Internal Operations in 2024.Â
She oversees the Sports Medicine department and has additional responsibilities as a valued member of the athletics administration team.
Myers graduated from Fresno Christian High School in 1997, then enrolled at Hope International University in Fullerton. She was a member of the volleyball team for each of her four years at both FCHS and HIU.
She earned a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Hope International in 2001 and returned to Fresno Christian as volleyball coach, Athletic Trainer and teacher. Betsy enrolled in the Athletic Training education program at Fresno State, completing a Master's degree in Kinesiology in 2004. While at Fresno State she worked with the football, volleyball, women's soccer, track, and equestrian teams.
She and her husband Darren are active members of the The Well Community Church in Fresno. They have a son, Titus, born December 2008 and a daughter, Shiloh, born June 2014.

Originally from Visalia, California, Jimmy joined the FPU staff as a Graduate Assistant for Sports Medicine in the summer of 2016 and signed on as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine in 2018. Jimmy was promoted to Director of Sports Medicine in 2024.Â
Education: He received his A.A. and A.S. degrees in Kinesiology/Athletic Training from College of the Sequoias in 2014. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Fresno State University in 2016. Then received his Master of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Fresno Pacific University in 2018.
Professional development: Trained in movement analysis via Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certifications along with a variety of injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation skills. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys traveling with his wife Julie, dog Lucy, family and friends!

Isaiah joined the FPU Sports Medicine staff in the Fall of 2020. Spears is originally from Bakersfield , California and has lived in Fresno since 2015.
He graduated from California State University of Fresno in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. He graduated with his Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Concordia University Chicago in 2022.

Diego joined the FPU Sports Medicine team in the summer of 2023. Originally from Lodi, California.
Diego graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Care from California State University, Sacramento in 2021. He went on to earn a Master's degree in Athletic Training from California State University, Fresno.Â
Outside of work, Diego enjoys watching LeBron play, hanging out with family and friends, and spending time with his dog, Winston.
