As a Junior (2009) - Started all 38 matches for the national champion Sunbirds....Finished the season with 226 kills and 135 blocks....Earned 2nd Team All-American honors....Was named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team and All-GSAC team....Earned All-GSAC and NAIA scholar athlete honors....Recorded eight blocks in win vs. Vanguard (10/21) and again at Cal Baptist (11/7)....Had a season-high 11 kills four times, including the national semifinal win vs. Concordia (12/5)....Finished with a team-best .378 hitting percentage....Was awarded the team's Coaches Award following the season.
As a Sophomore (2008) - Lisa appeared in 114 games over 36 matches...She accumulated 254 kills, 35 assists and 23 digs...She led the team with 136 blocks...She was named first-team All-American.
As a Freshman (2007) - Lisa appeared in 118 games over 37 matches...She accumulated 255 kills, 35 assists and 26 digs...She contributed 116 blocks...She was named All-GSAC, All-Region and third-team All-American.
Prior to FPU - Lisa is a graduate of Clovis High School...She played volleyball all four years under coach Richard Lake...Her team was TRAC champion several times...She was named 2006 Fresno Bee Player of the Year, 2005 Fresno Bee All-Star Team, and 2006 Sassano Blanket recipient...As a Cougar, she also competed in track, where she qualified for the Valley Meet in discus...Lisa was class Valedictorian and a member of the National Honor Society...She also played club volleyball with Central Cal...Her teams competed in the Junior Olympics.
Personal - Lisa was born in Fresno and calls Clovis, CA her home...Her parents are Randy and Dana Shilling...She has two older brothers, Deryl and Drew...Her older sister, Marin, played volleyball at FPU...Her favorite foods are calzone and lasagna...She enjoys listening to Christian rap and country music...Her favorite movies include "Elf" and "Rambo"...Her hobbies include reading, writing, drawing, and using her hands to create things...Her home church is Quail Lake Community Church...Lisa is a Liberal Studies major...Her career goals are to become an elementary school teacher, write Christian novels, and illustrate children's books.
