As a Junior (2016-17) - NCAA Division II All-American honoree….CSCAA Scholar All-American….at the NCAA Championships, set a school record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:22.29….also competed in the 400 medley relay (seventh place; 3:45.01), the 200 medley relay (fifth place; 1:42.37), and in the 200 IM, where she finished with a time of 2:03.28….at the PCSC Championships, won the 200 fly and lowered her own school record with a time of 2:02.63….also earned victories in the 200 medley relay (1:42.60) and the 400 medley relay, setting a school record with a team time of 3:44.35 (55.5 split).

As a Sophomore (2015-16) - PCSC Swimmer of the Week (1/26)....CSCAA Scholar All-American....earned All-American Honorable Mention honors at the NCAA Championships after swimming to a second place finish in the 400 IM B-final with a school record setting time of 4:23.16....swam to a first place finish in the 400 IM (4:23.97) while competing at the PCSC Championships....in competition against Cal State East Bay, Basra won the 200 butterfly (2:10.14) and the 400 IM (4:32.89), following that performance up with three wins against CSU Bakersfield and UC Santa Cruz in the 200 butterfly (2:09.65), the 200 breaststroke (2:26.20) and the 200 IM (2:09.73).

As a Freshman (2014-15) - Set a new school record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:28.31 on her way to a third-place finish at the PCSC Championships....swam to a new school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.2 while competing at the PCSC Championships....also earned a silver medal in the 200 medley relay with a combined time of 3:46.84.

Prior to FPU - Attended Louise Arbour Secondary School...swam five years for the Cobra Swim Club...named Most Dedicated Swimmer of the Year four seasons...won gold at the Ontario Provincial Championships in the 400 IM...her team was top 10 in the Province.

Personal - Daughter of Sarbjat and Ranjit Basra...has one sister Parvir and one brother Jagtaj...greatest sports thrill was qualifying for Nationals in the 400 IM in the summer of 2013...chose FPU for the team environment...the people she most admires are her mother and father...enjoys eating Indian food...enjoys watching the N.H.L on tv and roots for the Toronto Maple Leafs...favorite athlete is Jonathan Toews...favorite book is The Kite Runner...Bavindeep is a kinesiology major with an emphasis in exercise science.
