Biography
As a Junior (2017) - ACWPC and GCC All-Academic....appeared in 31 games for the Sunbirds....totaled 46 goals and seven assists for 53 points....added 26 drawn exclusions and 21 steals....had four goals in a setback to Cal State East Bay (2/4)....had back-to-back hat tricks against Pomona-Pitzer (2/24) and St. Francis (2/25)....totaled three goals and an assist against San Diego State (3/17)....scored a career-high five times versus Cal State Monterey Bay (4/14).
As a Sophomore (2016) - ACWPC All-Academic...GCC All-Academic...appeared in all 26 games for FPU...totaled 21 goals, seven steals and three assists...led the team with a hat trick in the win over Siena (2/26)...scored twice to lead FPUÂ in a setback to APU (4/16)...scored three times in the GCC championship opener against Pacific (4/29).
As a Freshman (2015) - GCC All-Freshman Team....appeared in 30 games for the Sunbirds....totaled 13 goals and 10 steals on the year....also contributed 26 drawn ejections.
Prior to FPU - Graduate of Millikan High School in Long Beach...played four seasons of varsity water polo under head coach Roy Contreras...scored a career-high 101 goals, dished out 87 assists and totaled 79 steals her senior season...two-time team MVP and team captain...earned All-League First Team honors twice and Long Beach Press second-team Dream Team twice...four-year participant for the Junior Olympic team....Academic All-American for three seasons...also a member of the swim team.
Personal - Daughter of Curt and Janie Knowles...has three siblings named Andrea, Shane and Spencer...her father and brothers played college water polo...chose FPU for the academic environment and the water polo program...people she most admires are her parents...greatest sports thrill was beating CBU in 2017 at the conference championships...favorite food is chicken nuggets...enjoys listening to 5 Seconds of Summer...roots for the Los Angeles Kings...favorite athlete is Maggie Steffens...hobbies include dirt bike riding, scuba diving, surfing and body surfing...attends St. Gregory's Episcopal Church...Emily is a kinesiology major with plans to become a pediatric occupational therapist.
