Prior to FPU - Started at guard for NCAA Division 1 Chicago State last season, averaging 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.....scored in double figures 14 times, including a career-high 23 against New Jersey Tech, 22 against Illinois State, 20 against DePaul and 17 against #22 San Diego State....out of high school, attended NCAA Division I Oakland University where he appeared in 29 games in 2008-09....originally from Washington DC, was ranked among the nation's top 150 recruits after his senior season at Patterson Prep School....averaged 18 points per game as a senior and was named MVP of the Washington, D.C./Virginia All-Star game.

Personal - Born February 4, 1987....son of Cassandra Samuels....has six siblings: Shawn, Bernice, Reggie, Jerome, Chris and Marcus....person he most admires is his mom....favorite movie is Gladiator....enjoys watching movies....Matt is a graduate school student working toward a master's in business.
