As a Junior (2011) - Appeared in 12 games, making two starts at midfield/forward for the Sunbirds....took four shots on the season including one shot on goal.
As a Sophomore (2010)- Played in 16 matches and made seven starts playing primarily as a midfielder....gave the team athleticism and energy off the bench.
As a Freshman (2009) - Appeared in 15 games, making two starts for the Sunbirds....Recorded her first collegiate assist in win at Menlo (9/21).
Prior to FPU - Katherine is a graduate of Bakersfield Christian High School...Her soccer coach was Derik Watson...She earned the Coaches Award and was named MVP...In addition to soccer, she competed in volleyball, track and cross country.
Personal - Katherine was born in Bogota, Colombia, and calls Bakersfield, CA her home...Her parents are Fernando and Marleny Barreto...Her favorite books are "The Alchemist" and "Epic"...Her favorite movies include "The Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember"...She is fluent in Spanish...She has traveled to Colombia, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and Mexico...Her hobbies include dancing, drawing and working out...Katherine is a Pre-Med major...She plans to become a doctor.
