As a Junior (2011) - Started all 52 games, earning All-GSAC honors and winning the GSAC Gold Glove at shortstop....batted .320 on the season with 28 runs scored, 23 RBI and a .405 on-base percentage....finished the year with a .980 fielding percentage and turned 27 double plays....batted .455 (10-for-22) with 8 RBI during the postseason....went 4-for-5 in a 6-5 win at Westmont (2/24)....went 3-for-4 in a win over first-place Cal Baptist (3/18).....was 3-for-5 with 3 RBI in the GSAC playoffs against eventual NAIA national champion Concordia (5/3).....also had 3 RBI in elimination-game win over Texas-Brownsville in NAIA Opening Round....enters the 2012 season already holding the program's all-time record for career hit-by-pitches with 40.

As a Sophomore (2010) - Started all 33 games he played in for the Sunbirds, batting .315 in 111 at-bats....hit seven home runs, had 26 RBI, scored 19 runs and finished with a .421 on-base percentage and a .975 fielding percentage....homered in three consecutive games vs. Biola in April, going 6-for-16 with eight RBI against the Eagles.

As a Freshman (2009) - Alec played in 54 of the Sunbirds' 60 games, all but one of which was a start...He came to the plate 145 times and batted .221 during the course of the season...Alec accumulated 17 RBI and 30 runs scored off of 30 hits...He had an on-base percentage of .380 and a .952 field percentage...Alec was second on the team in walks with 24 and was hit by the pitch 14 times, more than any other player...He led the team in assists with 151 and was fourth on the team in games played and games started.

Prior to FPU - Alec is a graduate of Madera High School...His baseball coach was Jason Murrietta...He was named Team Defensive Player of the Year and All-TRAC Honorable Mention in 2007...He was named Team MVP and 1st Team All-TRAC in 2008...He was a City County All-Star in 2008.

Personal - Born July 24, 1990...Alec was born in Fresno but calls Madera home...son of Randy and Tiffany Mehrten...has an older brother, Seth...Person he admires most is his father...favorite book is "The Yankee Years"...favorite athlete is Derek Jeter...favorite TV shows include "Entourage" and "The Office"....has traveled to Mexico and Japan...hobbies include playing other sports, watching movies and spending time with friends...home church is Grace Community Church in Madera...Alec is a Psychology major.
