Biography
Prior to FPU- Began her collegiate career at College of the Sequoias for coach Pete Rasmussen….named All-Central Valley Conference both years….received "Giant of the Year" award in volleyball her freshman year….averaged 10.12 assists, 2.14 digs, and .75 aces per set.… prepped at Exeter Union High School where she played four years of varsity volleyball….named 1st Team All-Tulare County, 2nd Team All-Fresno County, MVP of the Central Sequoia League, and MVP of the Visalia Invitational in 2008....earned 2nd Team All-Tulare County and 2nd Team All-Conference in 2007….…named Freshman of the Year in 2005….also ran four years of track and played two years of basketball….her greatest sports memory so far came when she served an entire 25-point game during playoffs her junior year of high school….named Exeter Union High School’s Woman Athlete of the Year in 2009.
Personal- Born May 22, 1991….daughter of Matt and Colleen Hutcheson….has three siblings: Patrick, Christine, and Jacqueline….Colleen (mother) played volleyball at College of the Sequoias, Christine (sister) is currently playing volleyball at College of the Sequoias, Patrick (brother) is currently playing baseball at Fresno State….the people she admires the most are her parents….favorite foods are Mexican food and chocolate…favorite movie is Sweet Home Alabama…favorite TV show is Bones…favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird….favorite music artists are George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean….favorite athlete is her brother, Patrick….attends St. Mary’s Catholic Church….Kat is a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in Physical Education Teaching....career goals are to teach and coach high school volleyball....also considering working in high school athletic administration and counseling.
